HERITAGE

Korean by blood. American by heart.

As you can tell from my 23&Me results, I’m essentially a thoroughbred Korean by ethnicity and American by nationality. My mother made the venture from Seoul to New York allowing me to be raised by 2 cultures and refining my own cultural identity. Although I’ve yet to hop on the K-Pop train, this gyopo still loves his kimchi!

HOMES

I’ve called a lot of places home throughout my lifetime and each of them hold a special place in my heart. If you ever need recommendations on things to do, places to eat, or miscellaneous travel tips, consider me your personal TripAdvisor!

New York, NY

Having been born in the Big Apple, my loyalty will always be to the greatest city in the world. The diversity, the energy, the pride - it’s unrivaled. I spent enough of my childhood here to know that the true NY slice started with Lombardi’s.

Salt Lake City, UT

The next chapter of my life was in the crisp mountains of Silicon Slopes. A good chunk of my upbringing was spent here making obligatory visits to Cafe Rio and shooting the tube. I’ll always miss the outdoors, the people, and the camaraderie here. Go Utes!

Sacramento, CA

I spent a few years exploring the various areas of Sac-Town. From the hood of Stockton to the ranches of Wilton, I loved all the diversity in this city. The only diversity me and my allergies didn’t appreciate was the trees.

Newport, RI

For the smallest state in the US, it has some massive character. Avoid glares by eating Del’s without a spoon or Hot Weiner’s without ketchup. Rhody’s do back it up though hosting big names such as Brown University and Alex & Ani

Mexico City, MEX

Being dubbed an honorary chilango, I must share that CDMX is much more than the attention that Roma has brought it and Nat Geo agrees. Go visit if you want to be swept off your feet at a bachata club or dine at some of the greatest restaurants in the world.

Affiliations

A large part of who I am today is a result of the many organizations I’ve been fortunate enough to be a part of. My character has been shaped by their strong traditions and values which I hope to carry on throughout my life. Here are a few that I have to thank:
